WASHINGTON, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) -- U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has been discharged from hospital following a surgery to remove cancerous growths found on her left lung, the court said Wednesday.
Ginsburg, 85, was released from hospital on Tuesday and is now "recuperating at home," the court said in a statement.
The cancer was discovered incidentally after Ginsburg fell and fractured three ribs in November.
There was no evidence of any remaining illness and no further treatment is planned, the court said last week after Ginsburg's surgery at a cancer center in New York City.
This is Ginsburg's third cancer diagnosis.
Ginsburg, who has been on the Supreme Court since 1993, is the most senior liberal member of the court that now has a 5-4 conservative majority.
