BEIJING, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- A graphical book about the Yellow River has been released at the ongoing 26th Beijing International Book Fair.
Compiled by renowned Chinese historical geographer Ge Jianxiong, the book includes more than 1,000 pictures taken by photographer Zheng Yunfeng in the 1980s, showcasing the natural environment, history and culture of the Yellow River.
Made up of three volumes, namely "Memories of Mountains and Waters," "Memories of Old Days" and "Memories of Ours," the book is the third in the series "Image Files of the Natural & Cultural Heritages of China's River Sources."
Starting in 2012, the series of books aim to present China's river sources in a systematic way covering the geography, history, architecture and religion of the waterways.
Three of the series have been published, namely "Three Rivers Nature Reserve," "Three Gorges" and "Yellow River." The final in the series, "Yangtze River," will be published soon, according to its publisher Qingdao Publishing Group.
