RIYADH, July 8 (Xinhua) -- Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen announced on Monday that it thwarted a "terrorist" attack by Houthi militias against a commercial ship in the Red Sea, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Turki al-Maliki, spokesperson for the coalition, explained in statements to SPA that the ship was targeted by a booby-trapped boat laden with explosives.
"The coalition forces intercepted and destroyed the boat before it could reach its destination," he said.
Maliki noted that the attempt posed a threat to international navigation and trade, pledging hard work to "eliminate the aggressive capabilities of the Houthis."
