BEIJING, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- The main structure of a major station has been completed on the intercity railway linking Beijing and Xiongan New Area, authorities said Monday.
According to the China Railway Beijing Group Co. Ltd, workers will begin laying the rail tracks for Beijing Daxing International Airport Station.
The Beijing-Xiongan intercity trains will run between Beijing's urban areas, Beijing's new airport in Daxing District, and Xiongan. Five stations will be built on the railway.
The Beijing Daxing International Airport Station, an underground station, will cover a total area of 115,000 square meters, with track length extending more than 2 km.
In April 2017, China announced the establishment of the Xiongan New Area, which is about 100 km southwest of Beijing and spans three counties in Hebei Province. Enditem
