TOKYO, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks remained lackluster Friday morning tracking losses on Wall Street overnight which was pressured by economic data sparking concerns about the health of the U.S. economy.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 89.46 points, or 0.42 percent, from Thursday to 21,374.77.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 7.28 points, or 0.45 percent, at 1,606.22.
The majority of industry categories on the main section retreated into negative territory, with marine transportation, mining, and oil and coal product-linked issues comprising those that declined the most by the morning break.
