China's publishing industry booming over past 40 years

People read books at a 24-hour self-service library at the Sanxia Square in Chongqing Municipality, southwest China, April 19, 2018. About 8,000 books are available for the readers at the library. Data from National Press and Publication Administration (NPPA) shows that China has seen rapid growth in its publishing industry over the past four decades, with the number of publishing houses increasing from 105 to over 580.
