LUSAKA, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- Zambian President Edgar Lungu on Thursday expressed deep sorrow for those who died following the massive outbreak of wildfires in the Greek capital Athens.
In a message of condolence sent to Greece President Prokopis Pavlopoulos following the recent wild fires that have killed 90 people and seriously injured 200 others, the Zambian leader said he commiserates with the people of Greece during the trying and tragic moment and hopes that God will provide fortitude and solace to the bereaved families.
"On behalf of the government, the people of Zambia and indeed on my own behalf, I wish to convey our heartfelt condolences to your excellency and the people of the Hellenic Republic on the tragic incident," he said in a statement released by his office.
